ING Direct Referrals

The process is pretty simple. Please send me your first name, last name and email address via email. I log into my ING Direct account at ING's web-site account and enter these three pieces of information that you've sent me in a form. ING then sends you an invitation. Use the link in that invitation to open your account and you get $25 just for opening the account! I guess it's their way of getting current account holders to spread the word. And, they deposit $10 into my account.

Do note you must use the same email address the invitation was sent to when you open the account to get the bonus. You can always change your email address later.

• ING's main web site is http://home.ingdirect.com/. That's a good place to start you research to determine if their account meets your needs.
• In a nutshell this is an FDIC insured savings account with no minimums and all your money earning the interest rate mentioned. It's tied to your checking account via EFT.
• When I was shopping around for a place for my "emergency fund", I wanted a interest rate better than most money market funds, FDIC insurance and a company with a history of doing so (as opposed to a gimmicky teaser rate for a few months to get new accounts). After a certain amount of research I discovered ING. Their current rate is, I believe, 4.50% - please check their web-site for confirmation. Here's a rate graph from ING's web-site.
